Beth Orr, LMHC joined The Sanctuary Institute in July 2023. Beth has 28 years of nonprofit experience, 22 years of this being in leadership. Her specialties are trauma, mental health, resiliency, and homelessness. Beth served as a peer reviewer with The Institute, evaluating organizations for their Sanctuary Model certifications and re-certifications beginning in 2017.
Prior to joining the team, for 8 years Beth was the Senior Director of Clinical Services at Metropolitan Ministries. Metropolitan Ministries serves homeless families and those at risk of being homeless in the Tampa Bay area. Beth was an integral part of Metropolitan’s efforts to become a Trauma Informed Organization in the Sanctuary Model which they have been certified in since 2016.
Prior to her work at Metropolitan Ministries, Beth worked for 17 years at Chestnut Health Systems in the Illinois Metro-East part of St. Louis as the Director of Case Management Services. Beth worked within their Mental Health Court, Gero-psych services, and developed innovative services that responded to the ongoing needs of individuals living with chronic mental health conditions as high utilizers of state and local hospital systems.
Beth is passionate about equipping organizations with trauma and resiliency standards and tools that are compassionately responsive to the needs of the individuals served within social service organizations.
